Guest speaker - 21/02/12

For today's lecture we had Graham Allen who is the Environmental manager for Swansea Metropolitan University.  Here are some of the things he went into detail on:


Self learners 
-Clarify and extend the ability of students to think for themselves 
-Encourage students to reflect and debate issues
-Foster learning


Corporate Responsibility is: -
An organization's positive impact on society and environment through operations, products a service through key stakeholders e.g employees, investors, customers, communities & supplies. 
It involves :
- Corporate Strategy, Integration, Management & Performance and Impact. 


He also went into further details on digression and the benefits of growth. Some of these benefits include: - 
-Creates employment
-Higher incomes
-Decreases poverty
-Improves the standard of living.


We also went onto look closer into GDP and learn about which activities add to it.
